For lease through the Web Realty Company, 25 Van Zant Street in Norwalk is advertised as a "cannabis space for lease," according to the online listing.
The building is now billed as having "265,000 interior square feet for cannabis space" and "80,000 exterior square feet of outdoor rooftop cannabis space."
The space was initially used for manufacturing hats by the Crofut & Knapp Hat Factory and then used by the Hat Corporation of America, according to property documents. Energy-saving and aesthetic improvements have been made to the building, but it has otherwise stayed the same.
The new, online listing promises that "cannabis cures and prevents breast cancer," but the only details it offers to back up its claim is that there will be "more info to come."
The "future-proof smart building" has five floors, an onsite restaurant/commercial kitchen, telecom and technology availability, and free, on-site parking.
Easily accessible by bus or train, the building on 25 Van Zant Street is near the Maritime Aquarium, East Avenue shops and restaurants, and the SoNo mall.
The state of Connecticut began accepting applications for cannabis establishment licenses in February, according to the state's website.
